IIR has been present in the Hungarian market since 2000. We provide more than 170 different types of events every year to the senior management and the leading business professionals in the form of conferences, trainings, master classes, workshops and certified courses.
A systematic, extensive and profound market research precedes the elaboration of the events in order to complie a programme which is based on the exact needs and expectations of business professionals. The focus is on the actual trends, regulations, business experiences and case studies. The issues of the key economic areas, such as strategic management, human resource management, marketing, finance, IT, legislation, telecommunication, banking, energy and other industries or areas are thoroughly dealt with. Our goal is to offer real benefit to our customers through the provision of relevant, unbiased and up-to-date business knowledge and competencies in the form of high quality, well-researched products and services.
There are different delivery channels (conference, seminar, trainings) that enable participants to acquire business information in the most effective way, via intensive knowledge transfer, interactive exchange of experience and targeted skill development. Business information is delivered by professional, hands-on experts, but in many cases, to update our delegates in a more comprehensive way, speakers from abroad present their advanced and innovative business practice as well.

A brief history of IIR
IIR was founded as a newsletter company in 1973, in New York. In 1978 IIR entered the conference business in the UK. In the wake of the success of the first two events, the focus of IIR rapidly switched to conferences.
By 1986 there were 7 conference offices, and continued its expansion in Europe, Scandinavia, North and South America, Africa, the Middle East and Australia. IIR extended its profile with organising exhibitions, then entered the training business. This double-edged expansion method has continued throughout the 1990's and early 2000s to create a large portfolio including the Monaco Yacht Show and IPEC.
The first office in Eastern Europe opened in 1992 in Austria, then, in response to the growing market demands new offices opened in the Czech Republic, in Poland and in Hungary.
Growth, both organic and through acquisitions, has been constant and considerable, and has led to the current total of 45 companies and 116 offices - the broadest international spread of any company of its kind. For the last decade, IIR has grown by a minimum of 15% annually.

In July 2005 T&F Informa plc acquired IIR. IBC-Hungary was a joint venture of which Informa was a part owner.
IBC-Hungary has ceased trading from October 2005 and has no legal successor. IIR Hungary, now part of the Informa group, is Informa's only current activity in Hungary.
